White Rabbit Collection Artists at the Venice Biennale 2019
Over the last few weeks as announcements about artists selected to represent their countries in the Venice Biennale’s oft-controversial national pavilions have hit the press, we’ve been waiting to hear whose work would feature in the China Pavilion. Rumours swirled, but finally it was announced that four artists, in an exhibition curated by Wu Hongliang, would be featured at the Arsenale. We’re delighted that they include the very remarkable Geng Xue, whose works Mr Sea and The Poetry of Michelangelo have delighted audiences at White Rabbit Gallery, and He Xiangyu, the creator of the extraordinary and memorable leather tank seen in HEAVY ARTILLERY in 2016.
Four more artists from the collection will be shown in the presciently titled curated exhibition May You Live In Interesting Times (and no, it is not actually an old Chinese curse!) curated by the director of London’s Hayward Gallery. They are Sun Yuan and Peng Yu, Liu Wei and Yin Xiuzhen. Yin’s work Life is currently on show in HOT BLOOD at the White Rabbit Gallery.
